I’m also prone to cold sores whenever I travel—especially if I’m not using something with SPF—so the built-in SPF 15 was perfect. We spent 9 days in Hawaii, and I made sure to apply this before heading out each day. I’m happy to say I didn’t come home with any cold sores, which is a first! The product comes in a sleek 0.13 oz lip gloss-style tube and has a light, pleasant fragrance that’s not overpowering at all. I reapplied about every two hours just to maintain protection, although I could still feel some product on my lips between applications. With summer coming up, I’ll definitely keep using this to shield my lips from the sun and help prevent those frustrating cold sores.

The only thing I’m not to fond of is the smell of the cream stick. It has a lemon herbal smell to it but I don’t really smell it unless I’m on top of the product. I don’t get a sunscreen smell from the lip products either which I like! I’ll be carrying this in my purse, I like how smooth it feels on my lips plus how quickly it hydrates my cracked/dry lips!

I found that on its own it dried my lips in a short period of time but if I used it as based it was more effective. It has a medium to mild scent sort of lemon-ish, so if you’re more inclined towards non scented products bare that in mind. The packaging is beautiful, the texture is pretty smooth like a lip balm and it’s clear not tinted.

I got this as an gift set with purchase of Elizabeth Arden makeup, which I love. I've been using Elizabeth Arden more than 40 years. This product goes on really nice and smooth, but it dries out really quickly. I had dried cracked bleeding lips for years until I got sick last Christmas and my kids brought me home Vaseline Lip Therapy Advanced Healing White Petroleum Lip Protection. OMG what difference to my lips. I applied regularly for a week and my husband said he's never felt my lips so soft. I keep one now in my purse, my makeup, at my work desk and next to my bed. I've never had a problem with my lips since then.

I truly wanted to love this, I really did, however, it is heavily scented, and it lingers, so much so that it made me a bit nauseous. I also don't love the ingredients (not as a fan of petroleum based products), so that was another strike towards this product. I wouldn't repurchase this and can't recommend it. I'm sad because this is such a well-respected brand, but this was a big fail.
