I was so excited to see how this line changed & was planning to buy it over my usual Kerastase line when my hair needed a pick me up. I thought this would be more hydrating with the added benefit of shine, especially because my hair responded well in the past. Sadly, the 2nd ingredient in this is alcohol. Alcohol?!? My beautiful salon violet red will literally turn my roots Ronald McDonald orange/red. Until I could get the alcohol washed out (3-5 washes later) my salon was going to help me correct it. Please please please for the love of your customers make sure to list clearly that this is NOT color safe. It's crucial information if you don't know what to look for in the ingredients!!!

While I enjoy using your product, I don’t appreciate that your company already has the capability (I.e. bottles, labels, pumps, and mfg equipment) to produce liters and chose to only sell them to salons. I do not enjoy having to purchase these small bottles that don’t even have pumps. The bottle falls out of my hands, I waste product (I’m sure that is purposeful for a brand that enjoys waste). You have competition that are doing a better job. It’s one step forward to sell your 5 best-selling shampoos, but when will all the shampoos be available. If things don’t change, I can’t support your company as it doesn’t align with my values.

I’ve used this shampoo off and on for 10+ years, and I’m now 47. I have dark, dark, dark brown, long’ish, thin to medium thickness hair(mid back), that’s slightly fine in texture. It’s pretty healthy other than a few spit ends here and there. . My scalp is on the dry. First, you must wring out your hair so it’s not soaking wet! I use a nickel sized amount to my scalp (massage in) and then another small glob through my lengths. Massage in. (I sometimes use a quality wide tooth comb to Very Gently comb it through, especially if it had hairspray in it prior, not only for the incredible softness that results, but the Scent is just serene. It’s not mild by any means-very jasmine/rose perfumey, that sticks with your hair for at least a day.) While I’m lathering it up, I’m always sure to take a full 1.5-2 minutes to gently, but very thoroughly work it through, and to squeeze it in, like I do the conditioner. It’s not a quick, in and out type of shampoo, as it needs time to penetrate your scalp and hair. (Then condition with Le Fondant conditioner, which you have to use the same way.) You should step out of the shower with sleek, shiny, detangled hair. Work a heat protectant through, before blow drying, and it will be fragrant, healthy, thick-looking, bouncy, beautiful hair. With that said, I was just about to purchase more from their website when I thought to check the ingredients first. (They tend to reformulate frequently.) Half way down the list, the ingredients from my current bottle started to differ from the online bottle. The one that really tripped me was ‘isopropyl alcohol’. Of all the other substances that could’ve been used, that aren’t DEhydrating! There are a few other changes, but nothing super alarming. I’m foregoing buying it now, but will miss it on the days I have frizzy, dull, dry-looking hair.

I am obsessed with the Elixer Ultime product line. Started using it about 7-8 weeks ago after leaving Kérastase for other lines the last few years. Was immediately thrilled with it. I am blessed with full, wavy healthy hair, even after 17 years of getting highlights. This product, along with the Fondant, is fantastic. I wash my hair every three days and it is so full and bouncy after I blow dry. I couldn't be happier. And the fragrance is to die for. If I could, I'd have candles made out of the scent. It is heavenly. Am now looking to purchase the accompanying oil and everything I can of this line in travel sizes. I live in LA. This works amazingly well for me. Try for yourself.

I've used at least 5 shampoos over the past few months. Different price ranges and brands. Paul Mitchell, tresemme, Pureology etc. This was by far the worst. It wasn't just underwhelming for the price, it was actively awful. I have thick, curly hair nearly down to my waist. This left my hair like straw. Tangled, rough feeling... just generally bad. I wish I would have heeded the reviews that warned of the awful change in formula but, alas, I learned the hard way. Its funny because the Kerastase product that I like has been discontinued (Fibre Architect). Hard pass on this.

I absolutely love this shampoo. It is very moisturizing, after rinsing, I can immediately feel my hair so smooth, yet my scalp clean. I got enough lather for my hair length on my second wash. The smell of this shampoo is heavenly!! It's not too strong like the Chronologiste scent, but it's strong enough to linger after hair washing, I enjoy my washing day routine more because of this scent. For me, I think this shampoo is more suitable in the dry weather, I would switch to other Shampoo from Architecte or Nutritive lines when weather getting humid.

Since 2010 I've been a Kerastase customer. I never thought I'd have to write such a negative review as this one is going to be. I've used the original elixir ultime line for years. My hair went from above shoulder length to down my back. But, this new formula for the elixir ultime shampoo turned my hair extremely dry and brittle. The smell is overpowering. The new formulas coming from Kerastase are not improvements. The new products are getting worse and worse. My hair feels like straw. With every change the products are getting worse and worse. I started this brand years ago because it was called the Rolls Royce of hair care. It use to be. Now it looks like I have to start all over looking for a trusted brand. Please bring back the quality products we're use to.
